Kelly Bigelow
PT
Team Physical Therapist
As a child growing up in Connecticut I was always very active and interested in science and nature. I first became interested in Physical Therapy when my father was recovering from a sports injury, it combined my love for movement and science.
I graduated with my Masters of Science from Springfield College in 1996 and started my journey into adulthood in South Carolina. I spent most of my years working for HealthSouth doing both inpatient and outpatient rehab focusing on recovering from neurologic conditions. I loved living in the south however after the birth of my first child I felt a need to be closer to family. That brought me to Easton, MD where I continued to live for over 20 years and raise my 2 children. I was able to put to use all the knowledge about neurological rehab I learned in SC to use for Shore Health System. While working for Shore Health I worked in a variety of settings including acute rehab, acute care and eventually opened a balance center doing outpatient therapy focused on balance disturbances. I earned a certificate in Vestibular Rehab from American Institute of Balance and one from Neurocom (a company that at the time specialized in the testing of vestibular systems). I spent 16 years with Shore health before deciding to further my knowledge and work for Clearway Pain Solutions as a practice Director. I realized this was not my cup of tea and wanted to get back to my roots in PT. I was introduced to home health and quickly fell in love. I fell in love with Lewes just as quickly and 1 year into my home health experience we moved to Lewes.
During my time with Clearway Pain Solutions I realized the critical impact nutrition was having on my clients. Nutrition was always a secret love of mine and in 2021 I earned a certification in Nutritional Therapy from the Nutritional Therapy Association. I have been combining my 2 passions ever since.
In my downtime I enjoy spending time with my grown children, husband and our dog. We enjoy time on the beach, riding bikes, traveling, paddling boarding, gym time, walking, listening to music and podcasts and eating out.
